19/12/02 THE SKY IS PINK! Finally, as I'm listening to "little blubber in my igloo" (which, by the way, is the second most endearing term after "a bun in the oven"), it has turned into icing sugar. Last break today, saw the funniest little dramatisation of King Arthur and the Holy Grail. In which Arthur borrowed my green cloak, Excalibur (wedged between the tables) was broken in half, Galahad and Lancelot's swords were really clamp and stands, and the round table was made of pink styrofoam. And Morgana, as she went to hide the holy grail, caused the whole of grade 12 to race down the corridor and into the snow (I without my cloak). The great battle (!) which commenced spread to many of the on-lookers, since Sir Galahad found it fit to slay random people, as well as Morgana. We (I), as the pagan horde, however, defended her gallantly. I have never laughed so much. My friend brought me a packet of chocolate digestives and a mint aero. I'm going to knit her a stripey Dr. Who scarf as a "thank you". Nevertheless, I am envious of her going to Oxford for an interview. I am nowhere near clever enough, but... I was reading The Golden Compass this time last year, and now all my romantic notions of pretty buildings and intellectual people are just cavorting around in my brain. My UCAS application has been sent... |
